If you looking for a Uganda-Rwanda adventure, this is the perfect Itinerary just for you. A journey of a thousand hills and the Pearl of Africa will certainly quench your thirst for adventure as you go from one unique destination to another.
Our tour will start from the home of the gorillas, or as we call them in Uganda, the Gentle Giants. Their home, the Bwindi impenetrable, consists of deep forests in the heart of Uganda.
Our drive to Lake Mburo begins quite early in the morning around 6:30am which gives us an advantage of beating traffic and making the most of our day of exploring this awesome little park. Our first stop will be at the Uganda Equator for a picturesque moment and for an opportunity to stretch our legs and perhaps get a few souvenirs from the craft shops. We continue through the scenic trails getting a glimpse of the scenic point that’s commonly refered to as the Switzerland of Africa.
Nothing beats the thrill of standing next to the world’s largest apes. The crisp smell of the rain Bwindi forest and a steamy cup of Ugandan coffee. A perfect start of the day. We will get a whole hour to observe them, those gentle giants. We will watch the little ones play and watchothers grooming each other. We will take as many pictures as we can, including selfies. We will descend down to the briefing center to receive our certificates from our meeting with the world’s largest apes.
We exit the park and begin the journey to Rwanda after breakfast and check out. The land to a thousand hills will entertain us with the most extravagant views as we move along to our final destination. Upon arrival, check into your booked safari lodge for a quiet evening of relaxation.
After breakfast, we drive to the park headquarters for a short briefing that will pave the way for us to enter into the dense forest of Nyungwe, a wild magical treasure that will bring us face to face with our lost cousins, the chimpanzees. We return to the lodge for lunch and later in the afternoon set out for a canopy walk that will give us a glimpse over the horizon of the Great West Rift Valley and a possibility of spoting some unique primate species.
After breakfast, we will check out of our safari lodge and transfer to Akagera national park, a park that will give us awesome game viewing opportunities. Upon arrival we check into our booked safari lodge. In the evening we go exploring on the beautiful savannahs of Akagera looking out for wild game.
We awake to a delicious breakfast and set out for a morning boat cruise on River Kagera that will give us an opportunity to get up close with the aquatic wildlife. From this thrilling boat cruise activity we exit the park heading to Kigali where we will get to explore this small city, a visit the Genocide Memorial, and craft market to get a few gifts for family and friends. Later we drive to airport to check in for our evening flight back home.
