Rise up quite early and start on your traditional African Safari. The drive today takes you to Ngorongoro National Park, 2,000feet in descent. The Ngorongoro crater is a world UNESCO Heritage site and is known for being the world’s largest inactive caldera. The crater is about 600m deep.
The Ngorongoro crater has a wide variety of wildlife and is open to visitors all year round. The park is home to the Africa’s Big5 animals that include Lions, Cape Buffalo, Elephants, Leopards and Rhinos. Other attractions include birds, the caldera itself, Olduvai Museum and also the footprints at Laetoli.
Get the days adventure started with a drive to the crater floor that Is located approx. 600m down a steep valley. The crater is popular for rare wildlife sightings such as the black rhino. You will spend the full day here and later go back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
After an early breakfast you will transfer to Serengeti, with a stopover at the ol’Duvai gorge. It is a steep-sided ravine consisting of two branches that have a combined length of about 30 miles (48 km) and are 295 feet (90 meters) deep. On this day, we will make a stop in Lake Manyara as we head to Arusha. Lake Manyara Ntaional park is located just at the foothills of the great rift valley wall. It is a small park known for its huge population of flamingos. The area is also inhabited by impala, zebra, giraffes and of course the big tusk elephants!
After breakfast in Manyara, your opportunity to bid farewell to the African bush will have come. A short drive to Arusha Airport will lead you to your journey onwards taking you memories to last a lifetime.
